Your first day!!

Andrew Parker Converse was born on Monday August 10, 2009 at Grant Hospital in Columbus Ohio. You were 7 lbs 15 oz and 20 inches long. You were born at 8:34 a.m. Mom and Dad went to the hospital at midnight Sunday night for a scheduled induction. Mom’s due date was August 17, 2009 but we couldn’t wait any longer and decided ahead of time tonight would be the night. We dropped your brothers and sister and a friends house early Sunday evening so they could spend the night there while Mom and Dad were at the hospital. After we dropped off the other kids Mom and Dad came home and took a nice peaceful walk together around the neighborhood and then came home and cleaned up a little around the house and then Mom packed her bag for the hospital. Then we took out our list of favorite baby names and decided together on Andrew Parker. Then we were off to the hospital. We checked in and got settled into our room and were ready. We were so excited to know that within a few hours we would finally get to meet you, Andrew. Mom was in labor for about 8 ½ hours. Then at 8:34 am you had arrived. You had a full head of dark thick black hair. You looked so much like you other brothers and sister. You cried quite a bit at first in the delivery room and then after spending some time with mom and dad holding you wrapped tight in a blanket you begin to calm down and opened your eyes and began looking around. Then it was off to the nursery with Dad.
We brought you home from the hospital Tuesday morning August 11, 2009. Your brothers and sister were so excited to hold you and help feed you after we brought you home. You spent most of the day sleeping and your first night at home you slept for 4 hours straight. Your second night home Mom put you to bed at 9:00pm and your slept 6 hours straight until 3:00am then woke up and ate and fell back asleep until 6:30am.
On your third night home you really surprised us by sleeping 7 hours from 11:00 until 6:00am in the morning. But as luck would have it, last night you woke up every 2 hours during the night.
We love having you in our family Andrew. You are such a little cutie. It is such a joy to watch you and take care of you. I love holding you and cuddling with you. We have been greatly blessed to have such a wonderful spirit join our family.
